Danish troops have arrived in Greenland alongside Army chief Peter Boysen after US President Donald Trump declined to rule out using military force in the Danish territory.
Broadcaster TV 2 captured footage of soldiers disembarking in Kangerlussuaq after Denmark confirmed it was deploying a “substantial contribution” of its Armed Forces to the Arctic. The Nordic outlet reported that a major military exercise, known as Arctic Endurance, is taking place, which has intensified amid Trump’s Greenland remarks.
Denmark and Greenland are also discussing the potential for a NATO mission in the Arctic region.
